Flying the nest

After lots of work and a long journey, and tons of support from the brilliant team at Inkubator Books, Detective Inspector Al Crow is finally ready to take on his first shift in the outside world.

When I began the first novel, I wasn’t too sure how he and I would get on, but now we’re a couple of years down the line, he’s bundled up his sleeping bag and definitely taken up residence in my writing brain. Like all characters, he’s got a few flaws – well, quite a lot of them, but somehow he ends up doing the right thing – usually! Her Last Chance, the first DI Crow novel, will be hitting the shelves on 29 March, and I can’t wait to see how he gets on. Meanwhile, I’m currently working on book 3 in the series, and it looks as if he’ll be in residence for a good while yet.
