Suzanne writes as Mary Georgina De Grey
Mary Georgina is a novelist and presenter, an ardent apologist for romances and books that show women having agency, proving that serious themes can be treated in an engaging and entertaining way. As a linguist, she finds it logical to make full use of the setting of countries she’s lived and worked in, and this forces her to try to understand the culture and how it affects anyone with a different background.
In each of Mary Georgina’s romantic novels, the main character is a strong young woman determined to make her way in the world. Her latest book Disappeared (due early 2026) is set in Colombia, featuring investigative journalist Antonia Brooks in pursuit of those who exploit the street children of Bogotá – and of course finding the time to fall in love. A new departure is marked by Let the Music Play On, set in Totnes in South Devon, a love story which finds music and science complementing one another. It’s due to be published in autumn 2026.
Suzanne has had short stories published in The Dark Half of the Year (2016) and also Grasping the Nettle (2023), as well as a few short pieces in charitable publications.
